This week, Aspen introduced me to the band iamamiwhoami. At first listen, I thought it might be a rip-off of Grimes or maybe even a revised Beach House. I didn't think much of the vocals at the time but Aspen promised me I'd like it once I was "in a better mood." (I'm quite moody about my music).
We visited his family in Castro Valley on Sunday afternoon and on the way home, I decided I should give iamamiwhoami another shot. After listening carefully and getting really into the beats of the music, I realized exactly what I had been missing and was swept by a sudden obsession. To top things off, I got another chance to hear Aspen's so lovingly "I told you so!" remark. (He's pretty much always right about music). Regardless, I am now in a full-force binge of this music and I'm loving every note.
For your listening pleasure:
"Play" by iamamiwhoami
I like the song! The video is kind trippy. The video seems to be 11 seconds but after 11 seconds the video continues to play. Maybe it's just my computer tripping out but it matches the theme of the music video and song. Haha.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a trip! The song is actually pretty cool. The video is crazy! I loved the shots they used and that field scene with the lighting was amazing. What was going on with the giant dancing mops? Crazy.
ReplyDeleteI actually watched this video when you first posted it . At first I just watched it and went on to your next post. This time I watched it again and it sort of grew on me. It's not the kind of music I would normally listen to, i'm a Jazzy kind, but I actually enjoyed it enough to watch it twice, Well actually 3 times, my daughter heard it and had me play it again, so counting the first time thats four. I guess I'm becoming a fan. Aspen has a good ear.
